Tosetto Allestimenti was tasked with creating exhibition panels lined with jute, a cheap, rough fabric that Van Gogh used when times were hard. This material was also used in a drape-effect on the ceiling.
The company was also responsible for the many free-standing exhibition units, as well as the display cases that held an extensive selection of the artist’s letters, and the captions. In addition to the titles and technical data, these included quotations from Van Gogh himself, where he describes the work or comments on its origins.
Tosetto oversaw the graphics, layout and hanging of the works exhibited in the India pavilion at 58. International Art Exhibition organised by the Venice Biennale.
