The exhibition, curated by Amin Jaffer, Conservative Head of the Al Thani Collection, and Gian Carlo Calza, Professor of East Asian Art at the University of Venice, with the scientific directorship by Gabriella Belli, offers a journey into the universe of Indian jewellers art from the 16th Century to Today, through the exhibition of 270 objects including gems, precious stones, ancient jewels and contemporary creations.
For the first time in Venice, the audience will have the opportunity to admire five hundred years of Indian gold art tradition: from the descendants of Genghis Khan and Tamerlano to the great Maharaja, thanks to the display of unique items belonging to the Al Thani Collection, a collection created by Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, a member of the royal family of Qatar.
