Tosetto at the Miramare Castle for the multimedia exhibition Massimiliano and Manet
By
Tosetto fabricated the set-ups for the exhibition and oversaw the handling of the art-works for “Massimiliano and Manet”, an innovative multimedia path occurring at the Stables of the Miramare Castle in Trieste from 12th May to 30th December, 2018.
The exhibition, curated by Andreina Contessa, Rossella Fabiani and Silvia Pinna and organized by Civita Tre Venezie and Villaggio Globale International, retraces in a new way the history of Maximilian of Habsburg, like a poetic journey through the places that have marked its history: from Miramare, to Mexico to Paris. An “impossible meeting” between the Emperor, cruelly shot in Mexico in 1867, and the great artist Edouard Manet who, first among many intellectuals, courageously denounced the French responsibilities. The immersive dimension, made of sounds, projections and reconstructions, enhances the environment of Miramare through a powerful and scenographic narrative, culminating with the video works of two Mexican artists revisiting the tragic event with contemporary eyes.
