Tina Modotti. Women, Mexico and freedom – Palazzo Ducale of Genoa
By
The exhibition Tina Modotti. Women, Mexico and freedom is held from 8 April to 9 October at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. Produced by 24 ORE Cultura-Gruppo 24 ORE and promoted by the Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura, the Liguria Region and the Municipality of Genoa, the exhibition was created in collaboration with Sudest57 and with the scientific contribution of Tina Modotti.
Curated by Biba Giacchetti, the exhibition displays about a hundred original photographs and silver prints developed from the negatives of the photographer, actress and feminist, together with letters, documents and a video dedicated to the adventurous life of one of the greatest and most multifaceted interpreters of the artistic avant-garde of the last century, who expressed her idea of freedom through photography and civil, political and social commitment.
We are proud of the set up, which invites the visitor to discover the life and artistic and creative path of Tina Modotti, deepening her never banal style, sharp language and deep expressive research.
The stands set up on the occasion of the Fruit Logistica 2020 exhibition on behalf of various customers, such as the Veneto Region, MAAP, Veronamercato, La Veneta, Blumen Group and Vivai Bacchetti, bear the signature of Tosetto.
