By
The exhibition Tina Modotti. Women, Mexico and freedom is held from 8 April to 9 October at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. Produced by 24 ORE Cultura-Gruppo 24 ORE and promoted by the Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura, the Liguria Region and the Municipality of Genoa, the exhibition was created in collaboration with Sudest57 and with the scientific contribution of Tina Modotti.
Curated by Biba Giacchetti, the exhibition displays about a hundred original photographs and silver prints developed from the negatives of the photographer, actress and feminist, together with letters, documents and a video dedicated to the adventurous life of one of the greatest and most multifaceted interpreters of the artistic avant-garde of the last century, who expressed her idea of freedom through photography and civil, political and social commitment.
We are proud of the set up, which invites the visitor to discover the life and artistic and creative path of Tina Modotti, deepening her never banal style, sharp language and deep expressive research.
On 21 March the exhibition In the Shadow of Leonardo. Tapestries and Ceremonies at the Court of the Popes, curated by Alessandra Rodolfo and Andrea Merlotti, was inaugurated at the Reggia di Venaria Reale in Turin and is now open to the public in the Sale delle Arti. Organized by the Consortium Savoy Royal Residences …
