Consisting of over one hundred works, many of which were on loan from some of the world’s leading museums and galleries, this exhibition on Henri Rousseau (Laval, 1844 – Paris, 1910), who is famed for his dream-like moods, and his magical forests and landscapes, was held in the Doge’s Apartments in Palazzo Ducale in Venice. The exhibition’s eight sections featured forty-one canvases by Rousseau, along with sixty by some of his most illustrious contemporaries.
