The exhibition Rethinking Nature, curated by Kathryn Weir together with the associated curator Ilaria Conti, has been inaugurated at the Madre Museum in Naples.
In the context of the acceleration of the global warming, with its dramatic consequences, the exhibition reveals how contemporary art is contributing to a series of cultural and political processes capable of collectively rethinking the ethical foundations of existence and shedding light on the forms of interconnection that bind the entire planet.
Through 15 new productions in international preview and over 50 works created by more than 40 artists and collectives from 22 countries, the exhibition articulates several experimental creative vocabularies, aimed at producing alternative forms of knowledge and social practice focused on political ecologym and it displays the urgency to build relationships based on new values and to implement radical change to face a crisis more and more present in many geographies.
Our team is proud of the set up, which allows the visitor to go deep inside one of the most urgent issues of our time.
