Pavilion of China at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale
By
On May 20th, the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale The laboratory of the Future inaugurated. The exhibition can be visited until 26 November 2023 and has been curated by architect, professor of architecture and writer Lesley Lokko.
The numerous set-ups of our team also features the Pavilion of China, curated by Ruan Xing. Dedicated to the theme Renewal: A Symbiotic Narrative, the pavilion develops through the chapters “DENSITY wonder Portraits of Plurality”, “LIVEABILITY renewal Stories of Shanghai” and “SYMBIOSIS future Rejuvenation” and aims to tell the story of the last forty years of urban development and rural China, retracing the great Chinese successes in city planning, architecture and above all in improving the quality of life of residents.
We are proud of the work carried out by our team, which allows the visitor to interact with the questions raised by the journey through the Pavilion, relating to livability in high-density environments: where are we going and what is at stake? Which symbioses will characterize the city of the future and what possibilities will be brought into play through VR technology, clean energy and renewables? Do the solutions lie in the architectural puzzle of density?
