Lee Miller – Man Ray. Fashion, love, war – Palazzo Franchetti
By
On 6 November the exhibition Lee Miller – Man Ray. Fashion, love, war opened at Palazzo Franchetti in Venice until April 23, 2023.
Curated by Victoria Noel-Johnson and produced by CMS.Cultura in collaboration with ACP – Art Capital Partners Palazzo Franchetti, the exhibition features around 140 photographs by Lee Miller and Man Ray, as well as video documents and some art objects made available thanks to the collaboration of the Lee Miller Archives and the Marconi Foundation.
The aim of the exhibition is to offer the right recognition to the pioneer in surrealist photography Lee Miller, placing her on an equal footing with her teacher, lover and great friend Man Ray and enhancing her talent and skills overshadowed over the years from Ray himself. Structured in a chronological and thematic path, the exhibition investigates the work of the two photographers, their encounter with the Parisian avant-garde of the Twenties and above all their relationship, exploring the inspiration that both exerted on each other both during their relationship and later on.
Our team took care of the entire set-up, with a result that allows the visitor to immerse himself in the artistic and human path of two of the greatest photographers of the Twentieth century.
