La Pala d’Altare di Ugo Da Carpi nell’antica basilica Vaticana.

The Torino Museums Foundation in collaboration with the Fabbrica di San Pietro in Vaticano and with the patronage of the Archdiocese of Turin, from 16 June to 29 August 2022, presents at “Corte Medievale di Palazzo Madama” La tavola di Ugo da Carpi per l’altare del Volto Santo nella Basilica Vaticana (1524-1525).
In the prestigious exhibition space of Palazzo Madama, visitors will be able to admire the altarpiece by Ugo da Carpi with Veronica unfolding the veil of the Holy Face between the Apostles Peter and Paul – a work of extraordinary importance for art and faith. It is a panel “made without a brush”, as written by the author next to the signature and as reported by Giorgio Vasari who saw it in St. Peter’s together with Michelangelo.
Tosetto has created the preparation of this prestigious exhibition, of which we are proud to be part of it.
