Italy Pavilion at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale

Our works for the Biennale Architettura 2023 also include the setting up of the Pavilion of Italy in the Tese delle Vergini of the Arsenale, entitled Spaziale. Ognuno appartiene a tutti gli altri. Curated by the Fosbury Architecture collective (Giacomo Ardesio, Alessandro Bonizzoni, Nicola Campri, Veronica Caprino and Claudia Mainardi), the pavilion includes nine projects by as many architectural studios – the youngest group of designers ever presented in the Italian Pavilion.
Launched in January as a series of satellite events in 9 places, each representative of a different Italian critical issue, the project aims to overcome the idea of architect-author, being conceived as a place where a plurality of experiences, stories and tales converge. Through the nine site-specific interventions, undertaken in different places in Italy and then converged on Venice, the Pavilion unites several contemporary narrative lines, all already started and meant to continue over time.
Our team took care of various stages of the set-up, including the supply of some materials and their implementation. We are proud of the work carried out, which enhances a set of projects focused on Italian fragile areas, peripheral districts, disadvantaged and degraded contexts, where recreating a community and offering new perspectives to the inhabitants is an emergency of which architecture, according to the vision of Fosbury Architecture, must take charge.
