Image Capital. The history of photography as an information technology – MAST
By
From 22 September to 8 January 2023 the exhibition Image Capital. The history of photography as an information technology can be visited at the MAST in Bologna. Curated by Francesco Zanot, it is the result of a four-year research conducted with the photographer Armin Linke and the historian of photography Estelle Blaschke, with the collaboration of Museum Folkwang of Essen, Center Pompidou of Paris and Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation of Frankfurt/Eschborn.
The exhibition deals with photography and its evolution: through six sections (Memory, Access, Protection, Mining, Imaging, Currency) that combine videos, interviews and photographic material, the viewer is invited to reflect on how deeply photography affected all industrial, cultural, research and innovation processes, becoming an instrument for the production of scientific evidence, archives and studies.
Our team is pleased to have provided an assistance service for the set-up of the exhibition, able to underline the different and innovative character of the exhibition and to invite all visitors to rethink technology not only as a mean of expression, but as an instrument characterized by a richness of data, information and technologies that give it a real capital.
Preparation of the exhibition “Chun Kwang Young: Times Reimagined”. The exhibition will be open from April, 23 to November, 27 2022 at Palazzo Contarini Polignac, Venice.
