The great solo exhibition David LaChapelle. I Believe in Miracles was inaugurated at MUDEC in Milan. Open until the 11th of September, the exhibition is the result of the artistic research path that has gone through the entire life of the American photographer, with over 90 works exhibited in large formats, site-specific shots, new productions and a video installation, to tell an unprecedented and in some ways unexpected LaChapelle.
With a project curated by Reiner Opoku and Denis Curti together with the LaChapelle studio, MUDEC hosts an exhibition that focuses on a critical look at the human soul, investigated in its folds of pain, loneliness, joy, passion and ideals, and explores the relationship of man with himself, with the surrounding environment and with nature: starting from the first works of LaChapelle – from the Deluge and After the Deluge series to Land Scape and Revelations -, the visitor is offered an absolute preview of still unpublished works, part of the new visionary phase of production of the photographer and legacy of his long artistic experience of a dreamlike and surreal mold.
We are proud of the exhibition created, which helps to present the artist’s vision and his reflections on the contradictions of our existence, that become a further tool for an anthropological reflection on the present.
