The Most Celebrated Installations “Made by Tosetto” for the Venice Biennale
Tosetto boasts the set-up of numerous editions of Venice Biennale and the end of this edition, one of the most visited ever, gives us the opportunity to retrace some of the most scenic and award-winning installations that we have built over the years and that we are particularly proud about.
Among the most important, surely there is ”Breaking the Siege” (Padiglione Centrale, Giardini) by Gabinete de Arquitectura (Solano Benítez, Gloria Cabral, Solanito Benitez), an exciting gothic lightweight made from poor materials and winner in 2016 of the Golden Lion for the best participant at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition “REPORTING FROM THE FRONT”. A very remarkable installation that has been fabricated with a system of ribs built of bricks and mortar.
Of the 2009 Biennale Arte edition, we can mention the spectacular installation made with thousands of elastic cables “Galaxies Forming Along Filaments, Like Droplets Along the Strands of a Spider’s Web” by Italian-Argentinian Artist Tomas Saraceno, which recreated in broad scales the canvas of a spider, representing the origin of the universe.
While in the 2008 edition of the Biennale Architecture we have worked on the magnificent site design installation “Ungapatchket” by Frank Gehry, awarded with the Golden Lion for Career, a large-scale “work in progress” model of a hotel in Moscow designed by Gehry, exhibited for the entire duration of the Exhibition. A majestic artcraft, also in its fabrication, that has allowed the visitors to enter the world of the “construction” works.
