The 74th Venice Film Festival will open to the public on August 30th, 2017. Tosetto will take care of the design of many areas of the festival starting, among others, from the external scenic design of the Palazzo del Cinema, which will be entirely renovated, to the famous red carpet, the Garden area, the terrace of the Palazzo del Cinema, the Pala Biennale and the Sala Giardino.
The Venice Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera, will animate the island of Lido di Venezia till September 9th 2017 with a program of 144 films, international guests, professional meetings, glamour events and awards ceremony including on September 1st, the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to Robert Redford and Jane Fonda followed by “Out of Competition” screening of the Netflix original film, “Our Souls at Night” by Ritesh Batra, starring the two actors.
The pre-opening film of Venice 74 on August 29th will be “Rosita” by Ernst Lubitsch (The United States, 1923), the masterpiece of the Mute Cinema restored by MoMA, whose screening will feature live music played by the Mitteleuropa Orchestra of Friuli.
Tosetto has fabricated the set-up for Mondadori Electa, designed by the Architects Francesco Cellini and Maria Margarita Segarra Lagunes, for the newborn Museum of Colosseum in Rome.
The first exhibition staged by Tosetto in 2020 is “Verso sera a Venezia” and collects the unpublished pictorial and sculptural works dedicated to the city of Venice by the artist Antonio Amodio from Verona.
