57th International Art Exhibition – VIVA ARTE VIVA
The preview of the 57th International Art Exhibition “VIVA ARTE VIVA”, curated by Christine Macel and organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will take place on Wednesday May the 10th, in Venice, opening to the public on Saturday May the 13rd.
The 2017 edition announces itself as a reflection on art, a multimedia lab that puts artists at the center of the scene, a celebration of the existence of art itself.
The Exhibition, which includes 120 artists from 51 different countries, unfold over the course of nine chapters, each of which represents a Pavilion in itself, or rather a Trans-Pavilion as it is trans-national by nature, evoking the Biennale’s historical organisation into pavilions. From the Pavilion of Artists and Books to the Pavilion of Time and Infinity, the nine pavilions flow together like the chapters of a book.
The exhibition includes 85 National Participations, with Antigua and Barbuda, Kiribati, Nigeria participating for the first time, as well as numerous selected Collateral Events organised in different locations in the historic center of Venice.
Tosetto, General Contractor for the VIVA ARTE VIVA Exhibition, has fabricated the set-ups of many pavilions, including Italy, Switzerland and United Arab Emirates, as well as the set-up of several Collateral Events. The Exhibition will remain open until November the 26th, 2017.
