2019 Venice Biennale: Tosetto for the Ghana Pavilion

On the occasionof the 58. International Art Exhibition organized by the Venice Biennale and inaugurated last May 11, Tosetto curated the preparation and the accrochage of the artworks exhibited in the Pavilion of Ghana, present for the first time at the Biennale Arte 2019. Titled “Ghana Freedom” and curated by Nana Oforiatta Ayim, the pavilion is divided into a space characterized by curved walls and plastered of Ghanaian land, recalling the typical tribal dwellings of the country. The sculptures, photographs, paintings and videos of six artists belonging to different generations tell the long and bumpy path of democracy after the end of colonialism.
